What is a diet? Often times when we hear the word ‘diet’ we think of cutting down our meals, or skipping them entirely for a few weeks. This is linked to the idea of losing weight, as well as a solution to staying fit. Truth is a diet is a set of food we regularly eat. This could be whatever we want, or whatever is available at a given meal time. But have you ever thought of what you should be eating, and what is in them that makes them so healthy? Maybe while you were in school, you’ve heard of the three basic food groups. There’s go food for energy, grow food for, well- growing, and then there’s the glow food that’s supposed to keep you healthy. They taught us should always have these three food groups in every meal, but nutrition and dieting are more than just that.
